Bellingham, WA -- State Representative Joe Timmons today announced his campaign for re-election to the Washington State House of Representatives, pledging to continue fighting for affordability, public safety, and investments that strengthen communities across Whatcom County.
“While we've made meaningful progress over the last several years, too many families are still struggling with the cost of housing, childcare, healthcare, and everyday expenses,” said Timmons. “I'm running for re-election because there is still important work to do to make our communities more affordable and ensure everyone has the opportunity to succeed.”
Since first being elected in 2022, Timmons has focused on delivering practical results for the 42nd Legislative District. During his time in office, he has helped secure funding for behavioral health and substance use treatment facilities, flood resiliency projects throughout the Nooksack watershed, and transportation investments including funding to advance the Slater Road elevation project, a critical connection for Lummi Nation and surrounding communities during flooding events.
Timmons grew up in a union household and has dedicated his career to public service. Before joining the Legislature, he worked at the local, state, and federal levels of government, including serving in Governor Jay Inslee's Office and at Western Washington University.
Looking ahead, Timmons said his priorities will remain focused on affordability, housing, public safety, behavioral health, and protecting the natural resources that make Northwest Washington a great place to live.
“I believe government can make a positive difference in people's lives when we focus on solving problems and delivering results,” Timmons said. “That's the work I've tried to do as your state representative, and it's the work I want to continue doing for Whatcom County.”
