Joe believes every corner of our community should have the opportunity to thrive. That includes expanding access to reliable internet, which is essential for modern-day education and work. It also means building a strong workforce with access to housing and childcare, both of which are foundational to a thriving economy. Joe believes we must invest in housing so that workers can afford to live in our community and ensure that families have access to high-quality childcare and early learning programs.

One of Joe's proudest accomplishments during his first term was helping secure funding in the state's capital budget for a new skills center at Meridian High School. Once complete, this center will be centrally located in Whatcom County to support students pursuing career and technical education, and the facility will also include up to 70 early learning and childcare slots to assist working families.
